Many legends exist about this lake and contribute to increase their mystery. One legend says that the lake, “the mother of all the waters”, it was formed with the tears spilled by the God Sun when the pumas devoured their children.

To slip through their waters on board a totora boat, surprising for their high resistance and in-permeability, or go for a tour around the Islands of the Sun, Moon and Suriqui. ITINERARIES

OPTION 1
Isla del sol. 2 Days / 1 night

Day 1
Departure to Copacabana, 100 miles from La Paz, this town is located in the most important religious sanctuary of the area, then, we take the motor boat to Isla del Sol visit the Pilkokaina ruins, lunch at the place and walk to the EcoLodge. (return to the top)

Day 2
Break fast and walk arround Yumani in the Inca Garden , to see the eternal youth's source. Descent to the port and boat to Copacabana. Lunch in Copacabana and exit toward La Paz.(volver arriba)

OPTION 2
Isla del sol. 5 Days / 4 night

Day 1
Departure to Copacabana, 100 miles from La Paz, this town is located in the most important religious sanctuary of the area, then, we take the motor boat to Isla del Sol visit the Pilkokaina ruins, lunch at the place and walk to the EcoLodge.

Day 2
Journey around the island, then, transfer to the Isla de la Luna (additional cost). Lunch and afternoon free with optional walks: Chinkana, Pilkokaina, La roca sagrada.

Day 3
Break fast and walk arround Yumani in the Inca Garden , to see the eternal youth's source. Descent to the port and boat to Copacabana. Lunch in Copacabana and exit toward La Paz

Day 4
Breakfast and departure toward the port to take the boat toward the floating islands of Uros and Taquile. Lunch. In the afternoon return to Puno.
