The coca leaf represents for the natives; the force, the life, is a spiritual food that allows them to enter in contact with the divinities: Apus, Achachilas, Tata Inti, Mama Quilla and Pachamama.

The traditional use of the coca leaf is very diffused in the Andean region, since the colonial time, particularly among the peasants and miners that use it in the long work days to avoid the hunger and the fatigue.
