The wine route in Bolivia

Bolivia produces an interesting variety of wines, Chenin, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, as well as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sirah.

Around 1.800 families and 5.000 people work in the valleys of Tarija and Chuquisaca, with the goal of produce “altitude wines” and other derived drinks of the grape. In these valleys a typical drink is also elaborated, very similar to the French brandy, called singani.

This route is an unlosable activity for the lovers of the good wine.

ITINERARY

7 Days / 6 Nights


Day 1
Departure toward Potosí, accommodation at the hotel and free afternoon.

Day 2
During the morning, visits to the key museums of the city, by the afternoon, visit to the Cerro Rico mines.

Day 3
Departure toward the towns of Camargo and Villa Abecia, this towns are very well known for it’s importance in wine production and hand made liquors. Night in Villa Abecia

Day 4
Departure toward Tarija, city located in the south of Bolivia and main area of wines production. Lunch in Tarija and free afternoon.

Day 5
Visit to the vineyards and stores of the Concepcion’s valleys.

Day 6
Departure to Potosí.

Day 7
Departure to La Paz, lunch during the trip.(return to the top)
